Minecraft!

Have been hearing "Minecraft this, Minecraft that" yet you don't know what Minecraft is? well this time I'll be telling you about it.

Minecraft is a sandbox type game in which there is no objective what so ever... sounds weird right? so how then to explain how this game works and what makes it enjoyable? well first of all you need an imagination and I recommend you clear your schedule.

The objective (if you can call it that was) is to build a refuge in any way you want, you do this by collecting resources.

Since you are only limited to the resources you have you can build in any direction in ANY way you want and here is where you get to be creative, people have built everything from Roller coasters to characters from Mario and Megaman.

Minecraft is still under construction and if you purchase it now you get a discount!

More on NGP

Introduction.
We all remember since January 27th this year, the epic announcement of the NGP which is the name for the acrostic Next Generation Portable will be released sometime this year however, it will not be for at least another 6 months and most likely we can expect it in retailers by the end of the year.

For the last few years Sony has been struggling to keep up in the portable gaming industry  with Nintendo on top of them, the last refreshment of the PSP was the PSP GO yet sales have gone quite poorly not to mention casual games sold in the iPhone App Store

Revolutionary technology.
The new handheld device is said to contain revolutionary technology since it is the first portable device to have dual-analog sticks, touch screen and a touch panel (at the back of the device) this is also the first gaming device to include Wifi, 3GS and GPS in one!. I would like to think about it as the son of an iPod touch and a Playstation 3.

Cloud system, Android and LiveArea.
The NGP will also have "Cloud" in which gamer will upload from their Playstation 3 Console their  gamesave and download it into their device and continue from where they left on the go anywhere they carry the portable.

It is also clear that Sony is now focusing in introducing a decent online community including something called "Live Area" in which gamers using the GPS, will be able to find nearby gamers.

Games like Call of Duty, Uncharted and little big planet are in development for this portable and will launch with the device itself moreover, the device will also be compatible with android OS and will be able to download games from the store having hundreds and thousands of games available, this is probably Sony's response to apple and their "App Store"

This is obviously a huge improvement from the original PSP which was launched in March 24th in 2005 in the USA and did good at the beginning selling around 62 million copies (up to September 216th).

We all know that Nintendo's 3DS is right on our doorstep and this is another marketing reason for Sony to release the device late this year, but will this portable be Nintendo's doom or will the NGP become the best portable device of the decade?
